Living in Edison, NJ
Edison is one of Middlesex County's largest and most diverse townships, and it carries the name of the inventor whose famous Menlo Park laboratory once stood here. Today it blends established neighborhoods such as Clara Barton, Menlo Park, Oak Tree and North Edison with excellent shopping, dining and some of the best commuter access in Central Jersey.
Buyers come for the variety: classic colonials and split-levels on tree-lined streets, newer construction, and a good supply of townhomes and condos. The Oak Tree Road corridor is known across the region for its South Asian restaurants and shops, and Menlo Park Mall sits on Route 1.
Why buyers love Edison
- Thomas Edison Center at Menlo Park, home of the Edison Memorial Tower
- Roosevelt Park and its outdoor amphitheater, a county favorite for summer concerts
- Oak Tree Road dining and shopping
- Menlo Park Mall and the Route 1 retail corridor
Getting around
Edison station sits on NJ Transit's Northeast Corridor line, and Metropark in neighboring Iselin is minutes away. The NJ Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, I-287, Route 1 and Route 27 all run through or alongside the township.
